First AOL is having troubles, then Yahoo, now Red Envelope files chapter 11. What's up with the initial internet "brands"? It seems that all the companies that started building a brand at the dawn of the Internet are having troubles.
All of these brands will exist in some form for many years to come, but probably under new management and new financial models. I guess it's a normal thing to see happen, but it certainly feels a little sad, at least in my eyes.
